    The No Cost BMCC Networking / Cloud Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program has been designed by our department to provide a clear path for entry level students to gain the necessary skills, credentials and career support needed to enter the growing field of technology. This apprenticeship encompasses the fields of Computer Networking and Cloud Computing with an emphasis on Cisco and Amazon Web Services certifications.

  • BuildingWorks Pre-Apprenticeship Program

    Please see attached application for the BuildingWorks Pre-Apprenticeship program: Application Buildingworks September 2021.pdf 

    • This is for recent graduates and alumni who are interested in pursuing a career as a union carpenter.  
    • Applicants must be able to pass a drug test.  
    • Training is from September 13 to October 15 Monday to Friday @ 7:30AM-3:00PM.
    • Candidates must be able to submit their High School Diploma or equivalent with the application.
    • It makes no difference if the candidate previously studied Carpentry in high school. This recruitment is open to anyone who is interested in applying.
    • There is no cost associated with enrolling in the program if accepted.  
    • Enrolled participants are not paid. 
    • After completing the BuildingWorks program, recommendations to the apprenticeship are based on performance during training and are not automatic. There will be a waiting period of 3-6 months before apprenticeship openings are available.

    Our partners at the Door and Woodlawn Conservancy are recruiting for their next cohort of candidates to participate in their paid internship and career training program. Candidates are eligible to receive their OSHA-30 credential, Supported Scaffolding training, and job placement assistance. Please share with your eligible graduating students and alumni who are 18-24. Highly recommended for candidates with interests in building arts, construction trades, historic preservation, masonry, and related fields. Deadline is January 28. Program begins on February 7. See this flyer for more information.

Vocational Training for Student/Graduates with Disabilities

San Institute of Design and Technology (SIDT) are recruiting recent high school graduates, ages 18-24, who have physical disabilities, who are interested in architecture, interior design, landscape design, graphic design, and/or product design.  This is a tuition-free program.  See flyer below.

Woodlawn Landscape Restoration Program

Woodlawn Landscape Restoration Program (LRP) are recruiting young adults interested in horticulture and landscaping. Participants will receive specialized hands-on training in landscaping and restoration under the guidance of instructors from The Davey Tree Expert company. 
 
The LRP is a 5-month career training program, beginning on September 7, 2021, offering OSHA-30 and CPR/First Aid certifications, as well as a paid internship in mowing, leaf, and grass blowing; landscape bed maintenance/mulching/edging; shrub and small tree pruning, and related tasks. Flyer is attached below.  

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age 18-24 in September 2021 
  • Resident of the 5 Boroughs of New York City

  • The pay rate is $17.85 per hour
  • Must have a driver's license
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Proficient with common power tools, with handyman skills
  • 40 hours per week schedule
II. Maintenance Supervisor: Candidate must have a valid driver's license and experience supervising a maintenance team.

  • Salary range: 50k to 55k depending on experience
